Do I understand correctly?


Known: a line. If the price stays above this line, going long is reasonable; if it breaks below, going short is reasonable.
So, at this line, without knowing whether it will break or not, is it more reasonable to go long or to go short?
For example, at the current 3280 line, you probably don't know if it will break or not! If you knew, you'd act accordingly. If you don't know, let's discuss: in the case where you don't know if it will break, is it more reasonable to open a long position expecting it not to break or a short position expecting it to break?
