[Coin World] Recently, Vitalik Buterin made a new move - directly investing 256 ETH in the field of privacy communication.
He posted that end-to-end encryption is a necessity for protecting privacy, but the current tools are still not perfect. What’s the next focus? Permissionless account creation and metadata privacy. The two projects, Session and SimpleX, are working in this direction, so he gave 128 ETH to each as a sign of support.
However, Vitalik Buterin did not hold back and pointed out that there are still several tough nuts to crack: how to achieve more thorough decentralization, the protection of metadata is still not strong enough, the multi-device synchronization experience is poor, and the mechanisms to prevent witch attacks and DoS attacks need to be optimized.
He calls for more developers to join in and complete the puzzle of private communication. After all, in this era, it's no longer a novelty for chat records to be spied on.

ngl, vitalik throwing 256 eth at privacy comms is basically protocol roulette... sure the thesis sounds solid but metadata leaks are still the achilles heel nobody's fixing. Session and SimpleX grabbing those stacks? smart money move if they actually solve the DoS vector, otherwise it's just another correlation matrix waiting to collapse.

256 ETH get dumped, this guy is really not joking.
Session and SimpleX can rake in this wave of funding, there's much to look forward to.
But to be honest, metadata privacy is indeed a tough nut to crack; end-to-end encryption alone is far from enough.
There are a bunch of issues with multi-device synchronization that need to be addressed, and right now it's still at a chicken rib level.
Vitalik Buterin's call this time is quite realistic; the privacy track really needs more aggressive solutions.
I'm already used to having my chats monitored, but someone has to step up and shake things up to change the situation.
These two projects need to be monitored; let's see what new tricks they can come up with.

256 ETH get dumped, this guy really doesn't lack money.
We really need to address privacy communication, as we are currently being monitored like a sieve.
Can Session and SimpleX handle the metadata part? It still seems quite difficult.
I understand the pain point of multi-device synchronization; switching devices every day is really annoying.
However, regarding the Sybil Attack, Vitalik Buterin is right; these projects need to solidify their basic defenses.
Let's wait for truly usable privacy tools; the choices are indeed limited right now.

256 ETH get dumped just for chat privacy, Vitalik Buterin's move is really ruthless.
It's lucky that these two projects can get funding, but those problems have all been pointed out by Vitalik Buterin, the key is that someone really needs to solve them.
To put it bluntly, privacy tools are just a sieve, looking fancy but actually leaking.
Why does it feel like metadata privacy is the hardest part, and preventing attacks is even tougher?
If developers really join in, the privacy track is likely to change drastically.
Wait, the issue of multi-device synchronization is indeed annoying, could Session break the deadlock?
Is this investment based on confidence or a gamble?

256 ETH smashed privacy communication... Vitalik Buterin is really treating money like money, I’ve already pulled my pants down and he still hasn’t done a transfer more than me.
Wait, is the metadata privacy aspect really still this bad? Why does it feel like privacy tools are still in the Stone Age?
By the way, will Session and SimpleX cash out directly like me after this? It's hard to say, frens.

It's time to splash out money again, Vitalik Buterin is really the biggest financial backer of private communication.
Getting 256 ETH for these two projects is definitely something to be proud of, but then again, there are still so many technical challenges.
Are Session and SimpleX reliable? I haven't really heard much about them.
Is it true that even Metadata can't be protected? Then what’s the point of talking about privacy?
In this day and age, whose chat records are still clean? I've long accepted it, haha.
Developers should sharpen their knives now. Since Vitalik Buterin is funding it, what are you all hiding from?
It's surprising that Vitalik Buterin hasn't figured out how to prevent Sybil Attacks; it must be really difficult.
256 ETH, guys, we need to keep a close eye on these two projects.
I totally understand the struggles with multi-device synchronization; switching between three phones every day is exhausting.
What about the Allowlist mechanism? It seems that traditional communication software is also moving towards privacy. Is this going to become a trend?

Can 256 ETH really buy privacy? I doubt it.
No, the metadata part is really a tough nut to crack, and the Session side hasn't given a particularly reliable solution.
You mentioned the poor multi-device synchronization experience, and that's spot on; it's driving me crazy every day, no matter what I say.
By the way, is Vitalik Buterin really supporting this with real money or just making empty promises? Let's wait and see.
Wait a minute, have they prepared for the DoS prevention? I haven't seen any specific progress.

256 ETH just went down the drain like that, Vitalik Buterin really doesn't lack money.
Session and SimpleX can get this wave of support, it feels like privacy communication is really going to take off.
The issue of metadata privacy has always been a hard injury, ordinary people have no idea how much information has been stripped away from them.
Speaking of which, can the current encryption communication tools really be trusted? I still have some reservations.
If multi-device synchronization is not done well, the user experience is just a decoration, no matter how private it is, it's useless.
Vitalik Buterin supports privacy communication with 256 ETH: Session and SimpleX each receive 128 Ether.
