Australia is moving forward with cryptocurrency regulation.
Australia has introduced the Companies Amendment Bill ( Digital Assets Framework ) for 2025, which subjects cryptocurrency platforms, including #Bitcoin and other digital assets, to financial services laws.
The Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Daniel Mulino, stated that the bill will attract investments, create jobs, and protect consumers.
• New licenses for digital assets and token custody platforms
• Exemption for small companies ( with an annual trading volume of 10 million Australian dollars )
• An 18-month grace period for compliance
