For example: concepts like on-device AI and AI phones are new terms fabricated specifically to deceive people. ZTE’s mobile phones have long been underperforming, and Nubia is a low-end phone brand that could just be handed over to ByteDance—3,000 engineering prototypes! What does this mean? It indicates that ZTE’s mobile phone division has completely failed. Successful phone manufacturers develop their own large models and would never allow external large models to invade their phones. If they did, it would spell their end! In the past, we had the “China Cool Alliance”—ZTE, Huawei, Lenovo, and Coolpad. In the end, they all collapsed except for Huawei. Now, it’s “Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Honor.” ZTE phones are branded as ZTE, and they have Nubia under their wing, but their phones simply aren’t competitive and are only suitable as phones for the elderly. That’s why ZTE wants to give them to ByteDance. The industry logic is just like that. This is actually negative news for ZTE; if there’s any positive aspect, it’s only that ZTE is restructuring its division.
