BitMine Reports $98 Million USD from $ETH K Transactions as Year-End Sale Wraps Up with Profit: Tom Lee

from Nansen shows that BitMine bought 32,938 Ether ( ETH ). Other data indicate that the total amount of Ether held by this company is currently 4.07 million ETH, valued at 12 billion dollars. BitMine has also staked an additional 118,944 ETH, continuing its passive profit strategy for its shareholders. The recent surge in purchases by BitMine occurs amid a generally shrinking cryptocurrency market, which Tom Lee, BitMine’s Ethereum strategy coordinator, says is partly due to increased sell-offs to reduce taxes in the US: “Sell-offs related to end-of-year tax losses are pushing down cryptocurrency and crypto stock prices, and this effect is usually strongest from 12/26 to 12/30, so we are adjusting the market based on this factor.” Asset sales to reduce taxes often occur more frequently at the end of December when individuals and organizations sell off assets to offset gains and reduce taxable income for the year. Lee, one of the founders and managing partners of Fundstrat, said that cryptocurrency prices are also affected by institutional investors taking a holiday break during Christmas, causing bots to dominate trading activity. Selling pressure has dampened the rally, causing the total cryptocurrency market capitalization to fluctuate around the 3 trillion dollar mark over the past two weeks, according to CoinGecko data.

BitMine’s ETH Purchase Activity Still Shows No Signs of Slowing Down Despite market downturns, BitMine has accumulated over 77,400 ETH since last Monday, widening its lead over competitors and becoming the largest “new money” buyer of ETH, according to Lee. BitMine has now purchased more than 40,000 ETH per week for at least 10 consecutive weeks.
