Many media startups see piracy as the enemy and try every means to eliminate it. But some people look at it from a different perspective—viewing piracy as a signal for market research.

Think about this logic: users are watching pirated or copied content snippets, what does that indicate? It shows that the current system does not meet their needs. This is users voting with their feet.

Rather than denying this reality, it’s better to embrace it. Observing what users are actually watching, how they watch, and when they watch provides clues for creating better products. The real issue isn’t piracy itself, but whether your legitimate system is convenient enough, affordable enough, and close enough to user needs.

Treating "problems" as "opportunities"—that’s the beginning of innovation.

Well said. Instead of constantly chasing piracy, it's better to reflect on whether your own system is good or not. I love this logic. The place where users choose is paradise. If you ask me, you should take this as a mirror to reflect on yourself. Don't always think about attacking, but about improving. Piracy, at its core, is because you haven't provided the experience people want.

Basically, it's because the product wasn't well-made. Don't blame piracy. --- The users are already voting. Can't you see? --- I agree with this logic, but the reality is that most companies choose to lie flat and sue. --- So, the core issue still comes down to pricing and usability. Stop talking nonsense. --- Use user behavior as data; this is the smart person's approach. --- Hey, isn't this the same mindset as blockchain? User choice is the biggest public opinion. --- Piracy is actually helping them do free user testing, and they still don't know to be grateful. --- True innovators have long understood this. It's up to you whether you can do it or not.

That's right. Instead of constantly chasing down piracy, it's better to see what people actually want. Official versions are more convenient; just lower the price first. This perspective is very Web3—user behavior is the most honest data. The flow of traffic from piracy can reflect genuine demand, which is indeed worth studying. Instead of blocking, it's better to ease up; optimizing the experience is much more cost-effective than legal expenses.

Piracy is just users criticizing your product as garbage. Do you understand that? Haha --- Honestly, it's still about pricing and experience dragging down the product. No wonder people turn to piracy. --- This logic is brilliant; reverse thinking has some value. --- Instead of blocking, it's better to loosen up. Look at what users really need—that's true data-driven decision making. --- Affordable and easy to use—that's all that matters. There's no need to compete with piracy internally. --- So the key point is to make the legitimate version so good that users have no reason to pirate. Do you understand?

Thinking about this logic from the opposite perspective is also valid. To put it simply, users just don't want to pay, and piracy is just an excuse.

This logic is indeed brilliant. Piracy is just users telling you "your stuff isn't good enough." Whether you understand it or not all depends on yourself.
