Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently made a new move—launching the NYC Token cryptocurrency project. According to him, the funds are mainly used to combat anti-Semitism, anti-American sentiments, and to educate children about blockchain. Sounds good, but the key details are all unclear—how to fight hatred, who are the partners, when will it be launched, how the money will be spent, none of these are clearly explained. The press conference held in Times Square was very brief.

Adams said he is not taking money from the project now but left a hint that he might change his mind later. This guy was quite supportive of the crypto industry during his tenure, but also caused quite a few troubles due to conflicts of interest. The new mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has already made it clear he will not buy this token.

By the way, the NYC Token is already live on the Solana network. It surged to a $700 million market cap initially, but after a few days, it plummeted and now only has a $95.47 million valuation. These fluctuations are quite dramatic.

Hmm... This kind of rhetoric sounds ridiculous. Giving a name but keeping all the details vague—classic pump-and-dump script. Dropping from 700 million to just over 95 million? Laughable. That’s what you call a "flash crash." Adams, this guy, says he won't take any money but leaves clues—such signals are way too obvious. So who’s still buying the dip on Solana now? I really can't understand. This new mayor directly says he won't buy—interesting, at least someone dares to make a clear statement. All the details are "we'll see later"? Bro, this is just a scam warning. Using tokens to fight anti-Semitism? Just listen and forget it. Market cap evaporated by 85%. This is what "the market speaks" means, everyone.

700 million to 95 million, thank goodness for Solana; if it were Ethereum, it would have gone to zero long ago. Before going public, they already hinted at possibly taking money later, a typical move to leave themselves an escape route. This NYC Token is just a joke, no details provided at all, who knows where the money will finally end up. Using cryptocurrencies to fight anti-Semitism? I just don't understand that logic. Adams truly lives up to the word "no," saying he won't take money now, but who can say what will happen in the future? The press conference was shorter than my meetings, interesting. The new mayor just called him out with one sentence, it feels like this token will fade away sooner or later.

Is this another charity-themed rug pull? From 700 million down to 95 million, I’m truly impressed by this speed. By the way, this guy really dares to do it. Still playing with tokens without clearing up conflicts of interest... Are all the details just a mystery? Definitely a premeditated trap, waiting for public opinion to settle before changing plans. Adams’ move this time is truly a top-notch lesson for Web3 politicians. Another "story coin" on Solana, the chart probably looks like this. Promised to fight hate, but ended up turning into a wealth transfer show... Projects that don’t clearly explain how the money will be spent, I really doubt they ever intended to clarify it in the first place. The new mayor directly refused, which is truly sensible. The entire NYC should thank him. From 700 million to 95 million, this is what real market feedback looks like.
