When Walrus(WAL) logs into a major exchange's main site, this project from the Sui ecosystem has sparked quite a bit of attention and discussion across the entire storage sector. The story of this "walrus" is far more than just a simple exchange listing.

From a technical standpoint, the Walrus protocol builds a decentralized Blob storage network, specifically designed to handle large-scale unstructured data like NFTs and AI models. What are its highlights? Gas fees can be reduced by 90%, and data retrieval achieves sub-second speeds—these figures are highly competitive in the storage industry.

But what's even more interesting is its role within the Sui ecosystem. Walrus is not just a storage project; it collaborates with protocols like DeepBook(liquidity) and SEAL to jointly build Sui's full-stack infrastructure. In this setup, Walrus is responsible for the core function of "verifiable storage." This means it can support complex dApps such as games and enterprise applications running on top—it's infrastructure, not just a tool.

This positioning allows Walrus to transcend the traditional scope of storage projects. As the Sui ecosystem continues to expand, the demand for efficient, low-cost data storage will only grow. The value of this project at the ecosystem level may be more significant than just its role at the transaction layer.

Gas fees reduced by 90%? That's quite impressive. Whether it's true or not depends on how it performs in practice. The Sui ecosystem's combo punch is quite interesting; we’ll have to wait for the applications to actually arrive to see what's real and what's not. How long the hype around Ocean's listing on exchanges can last is the key. Infrastructure-level projects carry high risks and rewards, a gamble on the ecosystem's prospects. With so many players in the storage track, what makes Walrus stand out? Sub-second retrieval is still quite rare nowadays.

Gas fees reduced by 90%? That number sounds really good. Compared to other storage projects, it definitely has some substance. I agree with Walrus's focus on infrastructure; the underlying logic of the ecosystem should be built this way. However, the problem is that the Sui ecosystem itself needs so many people to believe in it, otherwise even the best storage is useless.

Cut 90% of the gas fees directly, who can withstand that?
