What is CPI? Simply put, it is an indicator that measures the change in prices of everyday consumer goods and services, directly reflecting inflation conditions. Core CPI excludes volatile items like food and energy, providing a clearer view of the true inflation trend.

Why do these two data points matter so much to the financial markets? The reason is straightforward—U.S. CPI data is an important reference for the Federal Reserve's policy decisions. High inflation may prompt the Fed to adopt a hawkish stance (raising interest rates), while low inflation could lead to dovish actions (cutting rates or maintaining easing). This chain reaction affects interest rate adjustments, the dollar's movement, and gold prices, all of which impact the performance of crypto assets.

In terms of release schedule, the U.S. CPI is published once a month, usually in the early to mid part of the month. Traders in the financial markets have long been paying close attention to this timing, positioning themselves in advance to anticipate market fluctuations following the data release.

It's CPI season again, traders are probably having a hard time sleeping right now. Damn, core CPI is the real trap; once you exclude food and energy, the truth is revealed. The Federal Reserve relies on this data for decision-making, so our coins are bound to shake. Waiting to see this month's data; if inflation is high, my coins might be in trouble again. This point in the month is always a battlefield; those who position early are already making a killing. When the dollar moves, gold follows, and in the end, our crypto assets suffer. Honestly, CPI is probably a signal for the Federal Reserve to raise or cut interest rates. Once this data is out, the market can turn upside down; no wonder traders are sharpening their swords. Core CPI excluding food and energy, so they’re basically fooling us into thinking inflation isn’t that high? It feels like this month’s CPI will either explode or surprise us; the crypto market is about to have another rollercoaster ride.

That core CPI stuff is basically a warning before cutting the leeks; the onlookers are always a step behind.

The core CPI logic indeed provides more guidance, but the problem is—market reactions are often forward-looking, and by the time the actual data is released, it has already been priced in.
