The Solana ecosystem advisor recently announced an important policy adjustment on X. As more applications encourage users to post through reward mechanisms (the so-called InfoFi model), this practice has caused significant issues for the platform ecosystem—large amounts of low-quality AI-generated content and bot spam have flooded the space, severely impacting user experience.

To improve this situation, the platform has taken action against these applications: revoking their API access. This means that applications relying on posting reward mechanisms will no longer be able to operate, and the information flow for users should improve soon—at least until those bots realize that posting no longer yields economic benefits.

For affected developers, the platform has also provided a solution: if your developer account has been terminated as a result, you can proactively contact support for assistance. The platform will help migrate your business to other platforms like Threads and Bluesky. This approach is quite pragmatic, addressing the ecosystem issues while also providing developers with a way out.

It was about time to take action; the InfoFi approach has really overfed Solana. The amount of spam from bots is outrageous, and the screen-spamming experience has plummeted. Withdrawing the API is a tough move, but it’s good to leave some room for developers.

Finally, someone dares to take action. This InfoFi trash robot is really annoying to the point of explosion.

It was about time to clean this up. These trash bots spamming screens are really annoying. Well said, finally someone dares to take action. InfoFi was always a scam; it's just a bunch of retail investors getting squeezed. Solana's recent moves are somewhat strategic; they didn't directly cut off the developers. Losing API access is really a blow; now they should wake up. Go to Bluesky? Don't bother, their ecosystem is even worse. It's a bit harsh, but the online environment really needs a cleanup, or who will still play?

It should have been regulated earlier; there are too many spam bots, it's really annoying.

It should be pointed out that this wave of operations precisely demonstrates a core argument I made back in 2015—without proper constraints, economic incentive mechanisms will inevitably lead to the "bad money drives out good." On-chain data shows that the collapse of the InfoFi model has long been an inevitable technical outcome, rather than a sudden event. Speaking of which, Solana's move to migrate and settle seems a bit like the "Mr. Dong Guo" scenario... Will developers really obediently go to Bluesky? I'm skeptical.

It was about time to crack down hard on these trash bots; the information stream has been flooded and chaotic.
