Google recently made a major move—starting from January 28th, the Korean Google Play Store will launch the "Crypto App Compliance Review." In simple terms, all businesses involved in crypto trading must provide official registration proof with Korean financial intelligence agencies; otherwise, your app will be removed.

This is a significant impact. Trading platforms with a sizable user base in Korea that haven't completed local compliance registration will disappear from the store once the deadline arrives. When Korean users want to use the app? Sorry, they can only use the web version or find third-party channels. This will definitely be a heavy blow to these platforms' daily active users and new user acquisition in Korea.

The underlying logic is quite clear—Korea has been tightening regulations on virtual asset service providers over the past few years, and Google's follow-up policy indicates that tech giants and regulators have already reached a tacit understanding. Even more painfully, Apple’s App Store is likely to follow suit. Once both giants act, the survival space for overseas platforms in Korea will be greatly squeezed.

So for those platforms still on the fence, time is really running out. If you want to maintain a presence in the Korean market, you need to accelerate your compliance process now, or you'll just face being taken down.

Google's crackdown, platforms need to quickly renew their certifications, or else Korea will be lost.

Korea has started restricting exchanges again. I think there's an 80% chance that Apple will follow Google's removal. At that point, we'll have to switch to the web version. Wait, will Apple really follow? Then I need to calculate how much it will cost to switch to a different chain's gas... Staying up late again. Honestly, this is really tough on small platforms. If there's no compliance proof, they'll just disappear. It's a miracle if user experience remains good.

Oh wow, Google really pulled a fast one. Korean exchanges are probably going to have to work overtime collectively. Compliance is basically hard work. Without registration proof, they get delisted without any room for negotiation. If Apple follows suit, it’s game over. At that point, they’ll really have to survive on the web version only. January 28th is the deadline? Then we need to rush now, or we’ll really fall behind. This also reflects that regulations are tightening more and more, and it must be taken seriously.

Here we go again, a major compliance crackdown, the tactics are all the same Google and Apple collaboration, Korea is trying to completely lock out overseas platforms Removing apps without proof is a death blow to small platforms If we don't push now, once removed, we'll only be able to play the web version, and user loss will happen in minutes
