The latest US core CPI release came in below expectations, prompting risk assets to move. Bitcoin edged higher, while Ethereum (ETH), which should have followed the trend and broken out, instead oscillated around $3300, struggling to find a breakout rhythm.

This is not just a simple technical adjustment. Good news is like a spark, but the current market is simmering in a cold pot. Looking at the 4-hour chart, the price indeed reached $3403.36—an obvious resistance line and a cluster of short positions at higher levels. Unfortunately, after the rally, it was met with cold resistance, and the momentum was abruptly interrupted. The hot news contrasts strangely with the market’s cool response.

The data speaks clearly. Trading volume is only $78.32 million, far from supporting a strong move. Net capital outflow is $1.5 million. With such performance, where is the genuine bullish enthusiasm? Ultimately, the market is "selling expectations"—good expectations, but real buying interest has not followed. The accumulated technical resistance above remains heavy, and mere emotional stimulation cannot overcome it.

The technical aspect is the underlying foundation. The language conveyed by charts through real trading activity is often more honest than press releases. To make money, you can't be swayed by a single piece of news; you need to look at what the charts and capital flows are telling you.

Here we go again, the news is hot but the market is cold. I've seen this pattern many times. They dump 3,400 and then get scared, where did all the funds go?

Selling the expectation is such a familiar trick, we're about to get chopped again.

It's the same pattern again. When good news appears, funds actually run away, a typical case of selling the expectations. ETH is still dithering there.

The routine of selling expectations is already tired. You can't even keep up with the volume and still want to break through? Wake up.

Selling the expectation is an old trick, always pulling this stunt. Funds are fleeing, and trading volume can't lie. The real breakout is still ahead.
