ARK Invest's leader Cathie Wood recently posed an interesting hypothesis at the Bitcoin Brainstorm forum—what would happen if the US government actively entered the market to buy Bitcoin?
Her core logic is that this would fundamentally boost Bitcoin's scarcity value. In other words, once the government endorses it, the entire market's perception of Bitcoin as a strategic asset would undergo a qualitative change.
At the same time, Wood also mentioned the topic of market volatility. She believes that if the current Bitcoin correction can be kept around 30%, rather than experiencing larger declines as in the past, it would be a significant positive for market sentiment—indicating that the market is gradually maturing.
This viewpoint is quite interesting. Government purchases, scarcity, market maturity—all three dimensions point in the same direction: Bitcoin is gradually evolving from a speculative asset into a strategic asset. Of course, these are still hypotheses, but they are worth paying attention to.

Does the government buy Bitcoin? When will that happen? That's too optimistic, Sister Wood...
But on the other hand, a 30% correction is indeed much milder than before. If it can really be controlled, that would be awesome.
Feels like we're still just storytelling. The scarcity theory has been heard too many times. The key is how the real money flows...
Transforming from a speculative asset to a strategic asset? Still a long way to go, let's keep observing.
Bitcoin's recent drop has been quite sharp. I can barely afford my gas fees anymore... Laughing and crying.
Wood's explanation sounds like the rhetoric used for gold, but genuine recognition is still a long way off.
Government endorsement... We've been talking about this for so many years. Now that it might actually happen, I’m a bit hesitant to believe it.

The government taking over Bitcoin? That'll have to wait until pigs can fly... But on the other hand, if it really happens, it would indeed completely rewrite the game rules.
People always love to dream such beautiful dreams, but a 30% drop is considered mature? Wake up, everyone, we're just getting started.
Being both a strategic asset and scarce, it sounds so much like old clichés... Sister Wood has recently started talking about this set of ideas?
I don't really believe it, but if it really comes... I don't know whether to cry or laugh.

If the government actually buys Bitcoin, that would be too funny. It'll be interesting to see how those traditional finance folks feel embarrassed then.
Thinking too much, does the US government dare to make a move? The old guys in Congress would never agree.
A 30% drop—can it be controlled? Last time, we didn't seem to be this civilized...
Cathie still uses the same rhetoric; it sounds fine, but what about in reality? Who knows?
Once the government endorses it, does it become a strategic asset? Then all our previous purchases were for nothing, haha.
Wait, can this logic be reversed? Is government buying driven by scarcity, or is government buying creating scarcity?
What is 30%? True market maturity is when we no longer expect any positive news.
By the way, has Cathie been serious these past two years, or is she just dreaming again?
Once the government buys in, can retail investors really make money? I remain skeptical.
From a speculative asset to a strategic asset—does this level of cognitive upgrade justify this price?

Will the government really step in? I think it's uncertain, let's not get our hopes up haha

A 30% drop is nothing, it already fell 70% last year. If it can stay stable this time, I’ll thank heaven and earth
---
Cathie says nice things, but isn’t she just giving her own holdings a boost...
---
The term "strategic asset" is getting cheaper and cheaper, anything can be categorized under it
---
If the government actually buys in, it might be our last chance for ordinary people to get on board
---
Ah, so in the end, we still have to wait for the government to take over. That logic is a bit absolute
---
Wood is again hyping concepts, how many years has she been talking about scarcity value
---
Market maturity, right? Then why is it still so closely linked to the US stock market?
---
I just want to know, if the government really comes in, will it help us or cheat us
---
Bitcoin has gone from a speculative asset to a strategic asset, sounds high-level, but in reality, it’s still about who can cut whom’s leeks
