Mining stocks performed remarkably on Friday, with leading mining company Riot Platforms announcing a major move—an agreement with AMD for a 10-year data center strategic partnership. The initial contract revenue from this agreement is at least $311 million, and if fully expanded later, the total scale could surpass $1 billion.

To support this expansion plan, Riot also announced the sale of 1,080 Bitcoins to raise funds, securing $96 million. The funds were allocated to a key asset—purchasing approximately 200 acres of land in the Rockdale area of Texas. Even more noteworthy is that the capacity plan for this area reaches 700MW. What does this number mean? In the current competitive landscape of mining, such capacity layout is enough to attract industry attention.

From the scale of the cooperation agreement, financing, land reserves, to capacity expansion, these series of actions reflect a clear increase in top mining companies' emphasis on computing power competition.

Selling coins to expand capacity, I've seen this trick too many times, just worried that it will end up in a mess again.

ngl the 700mw flex is actually statistically significant... riot's basically saying "we're done playing around" and i respect the math on this one

Selling BTC to expand production, this guy is really betting it all. Riot's move is quite aggressive, how much electricity does 700MW require? AMD partnership for ten years? Long-term optimism for the computing power sector. Texas is Texas again, the mining circle loves to gather there. A scale of 1 billion dollars, this is what true big players do. Feel sorry for those 1080 BTC, do you regret it now? This pace is about to confront other major mining companies. Just the electricity costs will crush a bunch of small miners, the competition is intensifying.

Selling coins to buy land? I don't quite understand this logic. I'd rather hold and wait for the price to go up.

Laughing to death, selling coins to buy land, I would call this operation "Lettuce Awakening" --- 700MW capacity? Is the bear market this intense? I won't have enough computing power for the next bull market --- Ten-year contract, one billion scale,爆雷 after ten months, is this a bet? --- This is what real financing looks like, everyone. Selling your own coins for cash and land is a hundred times more reliable than some air projects --- Wait, is Riot really working or just stacking numbers? Anyway, it looks better than storytelling
