According to the latest statistics from on-chain data tracking agencies, illegal addresses have already accumulated over $14 billion this year. As more wallets are identified, this number is expected to continue rising to around $17 billion. Even more frightening is that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The most terrifying development is the explosion of impersonation scams—an increase of 1400% year-over-year. Imagine receiving a message from “exchange customer service,” or an account impersonating a well-known crypto influencer; one wrong move and you could be robbed. These types of scams have now become mainstream.

With the addition of AI, scams have become more efficient. Crimes related to AI have increased revenue by 4.5 times, and daily trading volumes have surged ninefold. Industrialized scam toolkits (such as the notorious “Lighthouse” series) have generated $1.5 million in black market profits within just three years, backed by a complete criminal industry chain.

Regionally, Asia remains the hardest-hit area for scams. More shocking data shows that the average single victim loss has skyrocketed from $782 to $2,764, a 253% increase. This means every person scammed is losing twice as much.

The good news is that law enforcement is also taking strong action. This year, they have jointly cracked down on scams totaling $15 billion, but clearly, this battle has only just begun.

For exchange users, the lesson is simple: never click on unfamiliar links, never trust private messages from customer service, and don’t be blinded by stories of sudden wealth. Because in this war, the cheapest defense is your own vigilance.
