In September this year, a new Layer 1 public chain Plasma (XPL) officially launched, with a clear goal from the start: to become the most efficient payment infrastructure in the crypto world. Why focus specifically on stablecoins? Simply put, the current mainstream public chains have three major pain points when handling stablecoin transfers—high transaction fees that can cost several dollars, slow confirmation speeds that cause frustration, and throughput that cannot meet actual demand.

XPL's solution starts with its technical architecture. The team independently developed the PlasmaBFT consensus mechanism, which is optimized based on the Fast HotStuff algorithm, enabling transaction finality in under a second. The key is that even in unstable network conditions, security and liveness are still guaranteed. In terms of throughput, it can process tens of thousands of transactions per second, leaving traditional public chains like Ethereum far behind.

Great effort has also been put into ecosystem compatibility. XPL is built with Rust and has developed its own Ethereum client, Reth, achieving full EVM compatibility. What does this mean? Most Solidity smart contracts on Ethereum can run on XPL without code modifications. Developers can migrate with almost zero cost, paving the way for ecosystem expansion.

But the most attractive feature of XPL is its zero transaction fee setup. Users transferring USDT on-chain? No gas fees. Only when calling complex smart contracts or transferring assets across chains do you need to pay fees using the XPL native token or other stablecoins. This design directly targets the two most painful scenarios: cross-border remittances and small-value payments.

Zero fee transfer to USDT? Sounds a bit too good to be true, is it real?

Zero fee transfer to stablecoins? Finally, someone has hit the pain point. The previous sky-high Gas fees were really outrageous.

Zero fee transfer to USDT? Sounds good, but I feel like there's something off with this logic... What do miners/validators get to eat?

Wait, zero fee transfer to USDT? You need to check carefully, only complex contracts and cross-chain transactions are charged... Feels like marketing talk again. My alertness is limited, I need to wait until late at night to test thoroughly.
