According to a poll by market research firm Verasight released in July, 69% of U.S. adults support requiring major AI companies to transfer 50% equity into a public AI Sovereign Wealth Fund to ensure AI profits are shared across society rather than concentrated among tech giants. Verasight CEO Benjamin Leff noted that the fund has emerged as a key tool for returning AI industry wealth to the public. The finding gains urgency as tech layoffs continue; Goldman Sachs economist Joseph Briggs estimates over 15 million U.S. workers may lose jobs during AI transition over the next decade.
