New York Federal Court Freezes $71M ETH Held by Arbitrum DAO for Victim Compensation

ETH0.28%
ARB0.55%

A New York federal court has issued an injunction prohibiting Arbitrum DAO from transferring approximately $71 million in ETH that was frozen during the KelpDAO hack, according to court documents disclosed by MegaETH lead PaperImperium. Plaintiffs seek to use the funds to enforce unpaid judgments against North Korea related to terrorism and kidnapping cases. The court filing identifies Arbitrum DAO as a potentially liable partnership and notes that the DAO’s Security Council, governed by ARB holders, has emergency action capabilities. Council members who refuse to cooperate may face contempt of court charges.
