ADX Launches Managed Services API Platform for Unified Trading

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has launched ADX Managed Services (AMS), an integrated API-driven infrastructure suite combining funding, trading, and portfolio management into a unified framework. International Securities became the first brokerage partner to offer the new services to retail investors, as announced at the Make it in the Emirates forum in Abu Dhabi. The initiative reflects a broader shift across global exchanges toward operating as technology infrastructure providers rather than solely as trading venues.

Unified Infrastructure Reduces Operational Friction

Traditionally, capital markets infrastructure operated through fragmented systems where payments, custody, brokerage operations, and execution functioned separately, requiring investors to navigate multiple steps before capital became available for trading. ADX’s AMS framework compresses these steps into a single workflow.

The first component, Certified Cash Transfer, enables investors to fund trading accounts instantly through broker applications by integrating directly with UAE Central Bank payment infrastructure. According to Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADX Group: “ADX Managed Services is a game changer in how investors access our markets. By bringing payments, trading, investment and portfolio management into one integrated ecosystem, we are removing barriers and enabling investors to act faster, more confidently and in real-time. This is about delivering real, tangible value, making our market more efficient, more accessible, and more competitive on a global scale.”

Instant funding addresses a significant operational bottleneck in retail investment environments, potentially improving market participation rates, increasing trading responsiveness during volatility, and reducing idle capital within the system.

Strategic Positioning and Regional Competition

ADX currently serves more than 1.2 million investors across over 200 nationalities. The exchange’s modernization effort aligns with broader UAE strategy to expand financial infrastructure and attract regional and international capital flows. Gulf exchanges increasingly compete through technology modernization, international accessibility, digital assets, and cross-border investment connectivity rather than trading volumes alone.

Ayman Hamed, Chief Executive Officer of International Securities, stated: “We are proud to be the first brokerage to partner with ADX on the rollout of its Managed Services offering. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing how investors access and engage with the market. By integrating funding, trading, and portfolio management into a single, seamless journey, we are delivering a faster, more efficient, and more intuitive investment experience for our clients.”

The embedded API model allows brokers and UAE banks to integrate exchange-connected services directly into their own platforms, positioning exchanges inside investor workflows rather than as distant execution venues behind intermediaries.

API-Driven Architecture and Market Infrastructure Evolution

APIs increasingly form the backbone of brokerage platforms, embedded finance systems, digital banking infrastructure, and trading ecosystems. Rather than forcing clients into separate operational silos, exchanges and financial firms expose infrastructure services through programmable interfaces, allowing brokerages, fintech firms, and banks to integrate funding, execution, settlement, reporting, and portfolio tools into unified experiences.

For exchanges, integrated APIs can increase platform stickiness, deepen institutional relationships, generate operational efficiencies, and support higher market participation. For investors, integrated systems reduce operational delays and lower friction between capital allocation decisions and actual execution.

Certified Cash Transfer specifically addresses liquidity velocity by accelerating movement from bank accounts into trading accounts, potentially increasing transaction activity, improving capital utilization, and strengthening liquidity conditions during active market periods.

Expanding Service Offerings

ADX confirmed that additional AMS services are already under development. These include a Systematic Savings Plan designed for automated investing and an IBAN Validation Service focused on transaction verification and operational security.

The Systematic Savings Plan reflects growing adoption of recurring and automated portfolio allocation models globally, where exchanges, brokers, and fintech platforms increasingly encourage automated investing structures tied to long-term wealth accumulation rather than purely transactional trading activity.

The IBAN Validation Service addresses operational resilience, fraud reduction, and transaction security within digital financial ecosystems. Together, these additions position AMS as a broader market infrastructure layer rather than a single funding tool, mirroring global exchange trends where operators increasingly diversify into technology, settlement systems, market data, workflow infrastructure, and financial services integration.

This evolution creates new revenue opportunities while increasing the strategic relevance of exchanges within national financial systems. ADX’s infrastructure transition aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader economic strategy focusing on technology, financial services, capital markets expansion, and international investment attraction as part of long-term diversification goals.
