Appeals Court Upholds Sam Bankman-Fried's 25-Year Fraud Sentence, $11B Forfeiture Intact

According to Reuters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit unanimously upheld Sam Bankman-Fried's fraud conviction and 25-year prison sentence on appeal. The three-judge panel rejected arguments that his trial was unfair, describing the government's evidence as robust. The ruling leaves the $11 billion forfeiture order intact. Bankman-Fried was convicted in 2023 on charges of misusing customer funds at cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
