Asian Stocks Fall on May 18; Hang Seng Index Drops 1.11%, European Bourses Rally

According to Jin10, on May 18, Asian stocks closed mostly lower Monday. China’s Shanghai Composite fell 0.09%, the Shenzhen Component declined 0.2%, and the CSI 300 dropped 0.54%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.11% to 25,675.18, while the Hang Seng Tech Index slid 1.95%. In contrast, European markets mostly advanced: Germany’s DAX rose 1.53%, the UK’s FTSE 100 climbed 1.26%, and the STOXX 50 gained 0.53%. U.S. markets closed mixed, with the Dow Jones up 0.32% at 49,686.12 but the Nasdaq Composite down 0.51% to 26,090.73.
