Australia's Crypto Travel Rule Takes Effect in July, Requiring Real-Name Disclosure on All Transactions

According to Cointelegraph, Australia will implement its crypto travel rule effective July, requiring all licensed digital asset platforms to collect and provide sender and receiver names along with platform identifiers for any transaction amount with no minimum threshold. Enforced by financial intelligence agency AUSTRAC, the rule also mandates users to confirm ownership when withdrawing crypto to self-custodial wallets. The measure aims to enhance on-chain fund traceability to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud.
