Australia's Long-Term Inflation Expectations Rise; RBA Board Member Calls for Strong Action on June 2

According to Jin10, Reserve Bank of Australia board member Ian Harper said on Tuesday that Australia's long-term inflation expectations have risen slightly, with financial markets now expecting consumer prices to remain above the RBA's target for an extended period—a shift unseen in years. Harper made these remarks during his first speech since joining the RBA's nine-member monetary policy committee.
