Bitwise Buys Another $10.11M HYPE as ETF Demand Surges

According to on-chain tracking data, Bitwise bought another 162,367 HYPE worth approximately $10.11 million over two hours, as institutional activity around Hyperliquid's native token continues to accelerate. The purchase follows strong demand from Bitwise's HYPE ETF clients, who reportedly bought $35.9 million worth of HYPE last week, marking an 18-fold increase from the prior week. Bitwise's official holdings reached 723,361 HYPE, valued at about $40.37 million as of May 21. The firm's BHYP launched on the New York Stock Exchange on May 15 and is the first HYPE ETF natively staked by its provider, attracting tens of millions in early inflows alongside 21Shares' competing THYP product.
