Bitwise Asset Management has launched the Bitwise Canton ETP on Deutsche Börse Xetra under the ticker BWCC, according to a Tuesday statement via GlobeNewsWire. The product gives European investors exchange-traded access to Canton Network's native token, CC. The Bitwise Canton ETP carries a total expense ratio of 0.85% per year and is fully backed by CC tokens held in cold storage.

Canton Network is a privacy-enabled blockchain developed with participation from Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Börse, and Broadridge. Unlike public blockchains where all transaction data is visible, Canton is designed to let financial institutions issue, trade, and settle assets digitally while keeping sensitive details private.

Comparative Product Landscape

The European listing follows 21Shares' launch of the 21Shares Canton Network ETF (TCAN) on Nasdaq. TCAN began trading on May 7, 2026, with a 0.50% gross expense ratio. Both products now offer regulated access to Canton Network exposure through traditional financial channels.

Product Mechanics and Accessibility

The BWCC product tracks the Kaiko CANTO Reference Rate LDNLF index and can be purchased through traditional brokerage accounts without requiring a crypto wallet. This lowers the barrier for European institutional and retail investors seeking blockchain exposure without direct token custody.

Bradley Duke, Managing Director and Head of Europe at Bitwise, stated: "The Bitwise Canton ETP is a timely addition to our growing suite of European crypto ETPs." He noted that Canton's combination of privacy, interoperability, and programmability serves institutional compliance requirements.

Institutional Adoption Signals

Canton has attracted attention from the tokenization sector. Société Générale's SG-FORGE deployed its regulated euro and dollar stablecoins on Canton for institutional collateral and repo financing. Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and Deutsche Bank have participated in Canton-related testing, validator activity, or governance work, according to 21Shares, which cautioned that those names should not be treated as endorsements of TCAN, Canton Coin, or the network.

CC traded near $0.16 at press time, with a market cap of approximately $6.23 billion, according to price data cited in the source.
