BNB Falls 3.03% on June 16 as Binance Faces EU MiCA Licence Rejection Risk

BNB-0.70%

According to Reuters, BNB fell 3.03% on June 16, 2026, to $605.62, as investors reacted to reports that Binance's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence application in Greece faces rejection. The token's market capitalization declined to $81.62 billion, while trading volume rose 4.98% to $1.42 billion.

Under EU regulation, crypto companies must obtain MiCA authorization by end-June to continue offering services across the bloc. Without approval in Greece—Binance's chosen regulatory base—the exchange would be unable to serve EU clients from July 1 onward. Binance stated it received no formal rejection notice and believes its application met all MiCA requirements.
