Brazil's Central Bank Mandates Financial Audits for Crypto Service Providers as of June 1

According to Bits.media, Brazil's Central Bank has mandated as of June 1 that virtual asset service providers must undergo independent financial audits before obtaining operating licenses. Auditors are required to review companies' financial conditions, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing compliance, asset segregation between platform and customer funds, risk management protocols, and staff training. Auditors must register with Brazil's securities regulator. The requirement applies to new license applicants and existing license holders seeking renewal.
