Breez and Turnkey have partnered to allow developers to integrate non-custodial bitcoin into backend-operated applications without requiring the apps to store or control user funds. Under the new model, each user's private keys are created and stored exclusively in Turnkey's secure enclaves, remaining inaccessible to the app's servers, Breez, or Turnkey itself. The app backend holds only a credential defining permissible transaction actions, while fund custody authority remains with the user, who approves transactions via a registered passkey.

The partnership targets exchanges, fintech companies, and neobanks seeking to offer bitcoin and stablecoin services at scale without taking custodial responsibility. Users experience no disruption to existing app flows and eliminate the need to record or manage seed phrases. Turnkey's embedded wallet infrastructure holds SOC 2 certification and integrates with Spark, the network underlying Breez's SDK.
