According to the South China Morning Post, ByteDance plans to complete the design of its next-generation self-developed CPU by early 2027, targeting mass production and large-scale deployment in H2 2027 to support its expanding AI infrastructure. Early versions of the CPU have been in internal use since late 2025.

To accelerate development and secure foundry capacity, ByteDance is collaborating with U.S. chipmaker Qualcomm, which is actively expanding its AI data center business. This partnership aims to help ByteDance address tight supply chains for advanced semiconductors.
