GateNews
According to U.S. officials, a 34,000-gallon storage tank containing methyl methacrylate leaked at an aerospace manufacturing facility in Garden Grove, Orange County, California, beginning May 21. The chemical, commonly used in plastic production, poses fire hazards. Although the leak stopped by May 22 afternoon, authorities stated the tank remains in "extreme danger" and "cannot be effectively controlled." Orange County Fire Department issued large-scale evacuation orders affecting approximately 40,000 residents across multiple cities due to the chemical's flammability. Local schools also suspended classes on May 22 in response to the incident.
