China and Australia Hold 18th Ministerial Economic Commission in Suzhou on May 21

According to Jin10, on May 21, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and Australian Trade and Tourism Minister Farrell jointly presided over the 18th China-Australia ministerial-level economic and trade cooperation committee in Suzhou. Li Chenggang, China's international trade negotiation representative and vice minister, attended the meeting. Both sides exchanged views on deepening bilateral economic and trade relations and strengthening cooperation in regional and multilateral fields. Wang emphasized that amid weak global economic recovery and complex geopolitical developments, deeper China-Australia cooperation would benefit both nations and contribute positive momentum to regional and global stability. Farrell stated Australia highly values bilateral trade ties and is willing to advance the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement review and deepen cooperation in traditional and emerging sectors, while supporting China's 2026 APEC hosting role.
