China and U.S. Hold Economic Trade Talks in Seoul on May 13, Signal Push for Expanded Cooperation

According to China's Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yongqian at a regular press briefing on May 14, Chinese and U.S. economic officials held trade negotiations in Seoul on May 13. China's lead negotiator Vice Premier He Lifeng and U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent discussed resolving trade concerns and expanding practical cooperation between the two countries.

China is willing to work with the U.S. on an equal, respectful, and mutually beneficial basis to expand the cooperation list and compress the problem list, the ministry stated, with the goal of promoting healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
