According to China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on May 25, the Chinese military's operations are consistent with international law and conventions. Mao made the remark in response to Taiwan's claim that mainland China has deployed over 100 vessels including coast guard and navy ships ranging from the Yellow Sea to the South China Sea, near Japan and the Philippines.
