China's People's Courts Resolve 34 Million Cases in Five Years, Up 1.7 Times

According to the Supreme People's Court, the number of people's courts increased from 10,759 to 11,035 during the 2021-2025 period, during which they resolved 34 million cases of various types, 1.7 times more than the previous five-year period. The cases handled by people's courts now account for 35% of first-instance cases nationwide, up from 25%, the court disclosed at its fifth national people's court work conference on May 25.
