China's Shenzhou-21 Astronaut Crew Reaches 203 Days in Orbit, Poised to Break National Record on May 23

According to a press briefing from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on May 23, China's Shenzhou-21 astronaut crew has reached 203 days in orbit and is on track to break the nation's longest crewed mission duration record. The three crew members remain in good condition with all operations proceeding smoothly. Mission Commander Zhang Lu has completed a record 7 extravehicular activities (EVAs), making him China's most experienced spacewalker by task count. During the mission, the crew has conducted 3 EVAs and completed multiple scientific experiments across space life sciences, materials science, microgravity physics, and aerospace medicine, including the first in-orbit closed-system breeding of mice and the cultivation of tomato and wheat seedlings in microgravity.
