China's Stock Indices Close 0.25%-0.44% Higher on July 23 with 2.2 Trillion Yuan Turnover

According to Cailian Press, on July 23, China's three major stock indices closed slightly higher in low-volume trading. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.25%, the Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.44%, and the ChiNext Index increased 0.25%. Daily turnover across Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges reached 2.2 trillion yuan, down 458 billion yuan from the previous session.

Market breadth was broad, with over 4,200 stocks advancing and over 100 hitting daily limits. Electric grid equipment, lithium mining, electric power, and oil and gas sectors led gains, while semiconductor-related stocks declined, with some chipmakers dropping over 10%.
