China's Yuan Weakens to 6.8318 Against Dollar on May 25; Major Currencies Shift

China's interbank foreign exchange market set the yuan midpoint rate at 6.8318 per U.S. dollar on May 25, down 55 points (yuan weakening). The euro midpoint was set at 7.9297 per yuan, up 104 points; the British pound at 9.1828, up 257 points; and 100 Japanese yen at 4.2905, down 28 points. The Swiss franc rose 416 points to 8.7125 per yuan, while the Canadian dollar fell 146 points to 4.9322 per yuan.
