Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao Meets WTO Director-General on May 22 in Suzhou

According to Jin10, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonkwo on May 22 in Suzhou during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) trade ministers meeting. The two sides exchanged views on the global trade landscape, follow-up work after the WTO's 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14), and WTO reform. Wang stated China is committed to defending the multilateral trading system and WTO principles including most-favored-nation status, and called for progress on pending issues such as tariff exemptions on electronic transmissions.
