CLARITY Act's 2026 Passage Prospects Fade Amid U.S. Political Tensions, Says TD Cowen

According to TD Cowen and reported by The Block, the CLARITY Act faces lower chances of passing this year as the U.S. political environment deteriorates. Jaret Seiberg, managing director of TD Cowen's Washington Research Group, stated that recent developments involving President Trump are making it harder for Democrats to support the bill without anti-conflict-of-interest provisions. Seiberg cited several factors including a settlement between Trump and the IRS involving alleged tax audit weaponization, news reports linking Trump family members to crypto enterprises, and stock trading activity in Trump's name during early 2026.
