Ctrl Wallet announced on July 7 that it will shut down its services, giving users until Aug. 3, 2026 to withdraw their assets before most app functions are disabled. The non-custodial multichain wallet reported a security issue on June 23 affecting some Cardano wallets and placed the app into temporary maintenance mode. After the Aug. 3 deadline, only the ability to export recovery phrases will remain, and the app will be removed from all app stores. Users can transfer assets to another exchange or compatible wallet, or export their 12-word or 24-word recovery phrase for import into providers such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Phantom. Ctrl Wallet listed over 650,000 monthly active users and supported more than 2,500 blockchain networks.
