DeepSeek Confirms New Harness Team to Challenge Claude Code, Opens 2 Beijing Positions

According to DeepSeek senior researcher Chen Deli, the company has confirmed formation of a new Harness team internally, directly competing with Anthropic's Claude Code. DeepSeek has opened two key positions in Beijing's Haidian District for Harness product manager and research engineer roles, with new hires participating in development of "DeepSeek desktop Agent product."

The company defines its core pathway as "Model + Harness = Agent," with context management, tool invocation, file I/O, terminal execution, and test feedback placed under the Harness domain alongside other engineering functions outside model development.
