According to CoinDesk, DeFi protocol Lombard abandoned LayerZero in favor of Chainlink CCIP in April, migrating over $1 billion in bitcoin-backed assets. The move followed a comprehensive security review after the KelpDAO attack that resulted in $292 million in losses earlier that month.
Lombard is among approximately $4 billion in assets that have completed or are in the process of migrating from LayerZero to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) amid intensified industry scrutiny of cross-chain infrastructure security.
