Deutsche Bank: If Fed Chair Wasch Avoids Policy Signals, Dollar Weakness and Carry Trade Opportunities Likely

According to George Saravelos, global head of FX research at Deutsche Bank, if Fed Chair Kevin Wasch succeeds in avoiding policy guidance on 2026 monetary policy, the dollar will likely weaken and summer carry trade opportunities will open up. In a Wednesday report to clients, Deutsche Bank stated that as the limited market impact from Iran tensions fades, it is difficult not to be positive on risk assets. The bank noted that global economic growth forecasts have remained relatively stable since last year, signaling limited support for the dollar, and Europe holds the greatest potential for upward growth revisions in coming months.
