Developer Theo Exposes Google AI Conflict: Original Gemini CLI Team Sidelined, Antigravity Copies Codex UI

According to developer Theo (t3.gg), Google's internal AI conflicts have sidelined the original Gemini CLI team as the company hired Windsurf founders to develop a new product called Antigravity. The new client reportedly copies Codex's UI pixel-for-pixel and suffers from frequent token wastage, with Google's demo video accidentally exposing a folder named "Codex." Theo criticized the internal struggle for driving away quality engineers and producing what he called subpar AI products.
