Digital Asset announced on the 22nd that SCAN 2026, a crypto asset tracking competition with a total prize pool of 2 BTC (Bitcoin), will be held as a side event of the blockchain conference 'KBW2026 with Upbit.' The SCAN 2026 conference and awards ceremony will take place on October 1 at Walkerhill Hotel & Resort in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at the main KBW2026 with Upbit conference venue. The competition aims to discover blockchain investigation talent and strengthen participants' practical analysis capabilities as crypto crime methods—including money laundering, phishing, rug pulls, DeFi exploits, and cross-chain fund movements—rapidly evolve, making on-chain data analysis and fund flow tracking core competencies for investigators and security experts.
SCAN (Secure Crypto Asset Network) is a practical competition where crypto asset tracking and security experts from around the world participate. Unlike traditional cybersecurity CTF (Capture The Flag) events that focus on vulnerability analysis and system penetration, SCAN comprehensively evaluates on-chain data analysis, transaction flow tracking, wallet behavior pattern identification, and blockchain forensic thinking.
The preliminary round will be held online for 24 hours on August 2. The top 20 teams from the prelims will advance to the finals on September 28 at Monaco Space in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to compete for the championship.
Up to four members per team can participate, and anyone interested in crypto asset tracking and blockchain security can apply. Registration details and competition information are available on the official SCAN 2026 website.
Before the awards ceremony, the SCAN conference will feature presentations by Chainalysis and other global blockchain security firms and law enforcement officials. Topics will include the latest trends in crypto asset crime, response strategies, and blockchain tracking and forensic technologies. The SCAN 2026 awards ceremony for winning teams will follow.
This is the second edition of SCAN. Digital Asset hosts the event, and global blockchain data platform Chainalysis participates as the CTF partner. Organizers expect SCAN 2026 to serve as an international exchange platform where crypto asset tracking and security experts worldwide can compete and share technical and investigative experience.
Yoo Shin-jae, CEO of Digital Asset, stated: "As crypto asset crime methods such as money laundering, phishing, rug pulls, DeFi exploits, and cross-chain fund movements rapidly become more sophisticated, the ability to analyze on-chain data and track fund flows is emerging as a core competency for law enforcement and security experts. SCAN was created to discover blockchain investigation talent capable of responding to these changes and to strengthen participants' practical analysis capabilities."
