According to Decrypt, Dutch prosecutors filed for bankruptcy of cryptocurrency platform Knaken and its affiliate Stichting Knaken Payments on July 1, citing public interest. The platform halted operations in early June, leaving approximately 30,000 customers unable to access their crypto assets. Knaken offered euro-to-crypto exchange, trading, and storage services for Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies but never obtained the MiCA license required by Dutch financial regulators. Prosecutors launched a criminal investigation and conducted a facility search on Monday, confiscating equipment and assets with no arrests made so far.
