According to The Block reporter Gareth Jenkinson, ECB President Christine Lagarde directly ordered Greece to reject Binance's MiCA license application on June 18, despite Binance having already received tentative approval from Greek regulators. The intervention halted the process.

Binance is now pursuing France as its remaining pathway to obtain MiCA authorization, though no formal application has been submitted yet, according to Cryptopolitan.
