Gate News message, April 22 — Ethereum Foundation researcher Shyam Sridhar stated at the 2026 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival that Ethereum’s openness and transparency are key reasons developers trust and choose to build on the network.
Sridhar highlighted that throughout history, every coordinated system has had backdoors: banks freeze accounts, platforms ban users, and AI infrastructure providers shut down APIs. “Ethereum’s openness and transparency stand in contrast,” he noted, emphasizing how these principles foster developer confidence and participation in the ecosystem’s development.
