EU Approves 21 Stablecoin Issuers, 270+ Crypto Service Providers Under MiCA in One Week

According to ESMA data cited by Circle's Patrick Hansen, one week after MiCA's full implementation as of June 30, the EU has authorized 21 electronic money token (EMT) issuers distributed across 12 member states. These issuers have collectively issued 35 EMTs pegged to eight fiat currencies, with France leading at six licensed issuers. No asset-referenced token (ART) issuers have been approved to date.

Meanwhile, the number of registered crypto asset service providers (CASP) under the MiCA framework has exceeded 270 institutions.
