Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Reverts to 'Chairman' Title, Breaking Yellen and Powell Precedent

According to CNBC, the Federal Reserve's official website now lists Kevin Warsh's title as 'Chairman' rather than 'Chair', reversing a 12-year practice established by his two predecessors, Janet Yellen and Jerome Powell, who both chose 'Chair'. Before Yellen, 'Chairman' had been the sole formal title for Fed leaders. There are no legal requirements mandating which title a Fed chair must use, making it a matter of personal preference. The shift comes as the broader use of gender-neutral language in U.S. government has faced pushback from Republicans.
